Ben Currie joins McAMS Yamaha, riding the all-new Yamaha R9 in the 2026 Quattro Group British Supersport Championship

Raceways Yamaha and McAMS Reunite for 2026, with Ben Currie and Harry Truelove joining for Supersport attack.

Raceways Yamaha are proud to announce the return of title sponsor McAMS for the 2026 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, marking the revival of one of the most successful partnerships in Bennetts BSB history – McAMS Yamaha.

The McAMS Yamaha story began in 2017, marking the start of a remarkable journey in the British Superbike Championship. Over seven years, the team achieved an impressive record - amassing 47 race victories, over 100 podium finishes, and both the Riders’ and Teams’ Championship titles in 2021.

After seven successful seasons in the paddock, team owner Steve Rodgers and the crew announced their departure from racing at the end of 2023, before making an unexpected return to the premier class just weeks before the start of the 2025 season.

The renewed collaboration between two powerhouse names in the domestic paddock will see 2022 BSB Champion Brad Ray return to the reins of the Yamaha R1 superbike, while the team’s Quattro Group British Supersport effort will be fronted up by 2023 champion Ben Currie, and 2022 third place finisher Harry Truelove aboard the all-new Yamaha R9.

The addition of McAMS as Raceways Yamaha’s title sponsor comes off the back of an exceptional return to competition in 2025, where Ray and the team secured an impressive 12 race victories and 22 podium finishes aboard the R1. After coming agonisingly close to championship glory this season, the team is set to return in 2026 with eyes firmly on the title.

On the Yamaha R9 side of the expanding Raceways Yamaha garage, Currie too has his eyes set on attaining a second British Supersport title of his career, finishing just four points shy of championship victory back in October.

The former champion is no stranger to the ultra-competitive Supersport series, having finished as runner-up in the championship on three occasions since his debut back in 2016.

Currie brings to the team an impressive record of over 20 victories and 60 podium finishes on the national stage – a rich experience that bodes well for the outfit’s hopeful 2026 campaign.

Ben Currie - McAMS Yamaha #61
“I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity that Steve and Yamaha have given me for 2026. Steve has always run teams that I’ve admired, so getting the call-up to ride the brand-new R9 was a real honour. I recently had the chance to test the bike for the first time at Mugello in its stock form, and it was an absolute blast. It really suits my riding style, which is exactly what I expect from a Yamaha: rider-friendly, predictable, and easy to gel with. It’s great to see everything coming together with my crew and preseason testing, and honestly, I just can’t wait to get started.”

Steve Rodgers - McAMS Yamaha, Team Owner
”It’s fantastic to welcome McAMS back as our title sponsor for 2026. We’ve achieved so much over the years and have created many long-lasting memories together. The McAMS Yamaha partnership clearly still has plenty of fight left in it, and we’re heading into 2026 determined to give it everything we’ve got. The new Yamaha R9 has been hugely impressive in the World Supersport Championship this year, and we’re excited to see how much of that potential we can transfer into the BSB paddock. With Brad back on the R1 and Ben leading the charge on the new R9, we’re stronger than ever and ready to push for more silverware in 2026."

Valentina Slater - McAMS Ambassador
”We’re incredibly proud to be returning as title sponsor with Raceways Yamaha for the 2026 Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Our partnership with Steve and the team has always been something special. Over the years, McAMS Yamaha have delivered some unforgettable moments on track, and it’s fantastic to see that determination reignited once again. As a company, we’ve been involved in the Bennetts BSB paddock for many years, and the sport continues to be a perfect fit for our brand and our values. Working alongside Steve and everyone at Raceways Yamaha, we’re confident the 2026 season will be another exciting chapter.”

Matt Taylerson - Yamaha Motor UK, Divisional Manager, Marketing
“McAMS are a long-standing and highly valued Yamaha partner, having supported Yamaha teams in the British Superbike Championship since 2017. Over that time, the partnership has achieved incredible success both on and off the track, from multiple race wins and championship titles to building one of the most recognisable teams in the paddock. What makes this relationship special is that it extends beyond racing. McAMS operate one of, if not the largest, Yamaha motorcycle and scooter fleets in the UK, showcasing their belief in our products and their commitment to the Yamaha brand on every level. To see McAMS return as title sponsor with Raceways Yamaha for 2026 is fantastic news for everyone involved, and we can’t wait to see what the team achieves in the season ahead."
