The spring break comes to a close

It’s crazy to think we are pretty much halfway through the calendar year but only two rounds into the actual race season of eleven rounds. It's been an incredible start and looking back at some of the stats I've got two out of three race wins, I've got three out of four pole positions, and we're leading the championship too, albeit by one point. it's the ideal start and we are building momentum massively from testing through to the races. And we have an excellent feeling going into round three as Snetterton, a track I really like.

We've had almost five weeks off and during that time I've been continuing my work with John F Hunt Water Tech. But I've also had a little bit of time off, and spending some time with my mum who’s over from Australia visiting me for my 30th birthday. It’s been so nice to have some family time, as I spend all year away from my friends and family on the other side of the world, so it's really good to get that quality time in.

Training is going really well and it's a nice time to top up on fitness as it's been a busy period at the start of the season on the bike. Training is obviously important and is still one of the main focuses however it's hard to get a really good block of training in usually as you can wear yourself out in between races and test days, but with the five weeks I was able to really dial in with my trainer Kirk and get back to that peak feeling. I feel like we can really push on from here for the rest of the season.

As usual, I’ve been working with my team and studying the data looking for improvements with my crew chief and team owner Wilf. All exciting, but I'm absolutely chomping at the bit to get back on my bike now, it's going to be full steam all the way to the end of October.
