Ben Currie steps back on the box at Oulton Park

Oulton Park was a tricky old weekend. The weather was a little bit hit and miss for Sunday's feature race, but the qualifying and free practice sessions went relatively smoothly.

I did my fastest ever lap time around Oulton Park and was under the lap record in qualifying, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to be on the front row, which was a pretty crazy experience to be honest. Doing ‘36s and not on the front row was something of a shock, as it was my target time before the weekend, and I achieved that in qualifying.

I finished a strong third place in Saturday’ s sprint race. I just didn't quite have that little bit more to challenge the leaders but was just off the back of them nonetheless giving us a solid base to work off for the feature race.

But unfortunately, the weather came in for Sunday and made it a little bit of a fifty-fifty tyre gamble race which unfortunately we didn't get completely right. I managed to finish seventh and take home some solid points.

I'm now 16 points back in the championship so it’s still very much alive. I need to win the last four races, and I should become champion again. That's the plan. And that's what we're going to target, so let’s see what happens at Donington Park.
