Ben Currie targeting wins at Donington Park

This time last year at Donington Park we were crowned British Supersport champions. We now have four races left this season and the task is simple. I just need wins now.

Last Thursday the third and final Ducati UK track day of the year took place at Donington Park. The six 20-minute sessions proved really useful for the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team and myself and we used the sessions to test and evaluate chassis configurations for my Panigale V2.

I feel we made a step at the test last week so I'm looking forward to putting that into practise. It's been a tough few rounds for us, but the confidence and the want is very much still there. The team and myself also want to conclude Moto Rapido and Oxford Products’ successful six-year title partnership on a high.

I believe we can turn it around this weekend and get back to winning ways but it's going to be tough. The boys are riding really fast, so we have to bring our A game to beat them for sure, but I’m up for it!

“We are coming to the end of our first season sponsoring Ben, it’s been a journey and he’s keeping us on our toes until the end.

I first met Ben at a Ducati UK track day at Donington Park so it’s fitting that the next round returns there this weekend. I was sat having lunch with a friend talking about how great it would be to get a wristwatch patch on someone’s leathers, the same as you see in F1. I didn’t know who Ben was at the time and didn’t recognise him, but you can’t help but like him. He piped up and said he’d be up for it.

Sponsorship isn’t about making money, it for sure helps, but I think it’s about supporting someone or a team you have an affinity for, and Ben ticked that box. He’s a character, generous, and as it happens pretty handy with a bike.

As the season’s progressed he’s done more and more for us and making sure we as sponsors are looked after. We’ve been to Spain on his season warm up and he’s also accompanied us on some track days. He’s fully engaged with us as sponsors, and it’s been a real journey to watch his season progress.

We’re honoured to be part of his and Moto Rapido’s season and we are absolutely rooting for that trophy lift by the end of the championship. It’s been a pleasure this year and we are 100% on board for next year too.”
